Ok, Amy is obviously not a recent discovery, but I’ve been listening to the amazingamazingamazing Frank album again, and somehow, Amy’s debut is ELEVEN years old this month. It kind of occurred to me that although every single person ever has heard Back to Black, some might not have heard any of Amy’s first album, which I actually prefer. Her voice on this album is astounding, and is such a contrast to the grainy youtube clips of her last few performances. I think it’s this album, far more than Back to Black that shows how fantastically talented she was. Anyway, the entire deluxe edition of the album is on Spotify, with demos and live recordings, and it’s perfect for a grey midweek morning.
